Suspect captured in shooting

On Friday, at about 5:48 p.m., Philadelphia police officers responded to the 4200 block of Torresdale Ave. for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located the complainant, 30, suffering from a gunshot wound to his right hand and transported him to Temple ER in stable condition. Additional responding officers arrived on the scene and located the offender, who was being held by a civilian. The offender was placed into custody by PPD officers and was positively identified as the shooter. A firearm was recovered.

The alleged offender was identified as Tyrobert Wilson, 48.

The District Attorney’s Office charged Wilson with aggravated assault, Violation of the Uniform Firearms Act and related charges.

The investigation remains ongoing with the Shooting Investigation Group.
