Northeast Detectives investigating 5 robberies

The Philadelphia Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects in five robberies on Dec. 20-21.

In each case, the offenders displayed or used a hammer during the robbery. The offenders are wearing the same clothing in each of the robberies and fled in a white Acura with a temporary New Jersey tag.

One robbery took place at 4:15 p.m. at Fox Chase Recreation Center. Four males – three black and one white – wearing dark masks approached a 13-year-old boy. They attacked the boy and stole his hoodie and sneakers.

At 5:18 p.m. the same day, two black males punched a boy waiting for a bus at Rising Sun and Adams avenues, stealing his Chromebook and sneakers.

The next day, at 12:25 p.m., six offenders – a white male, a white female, a black female and three black males – stole the sneakers of a male on the 5700 block of Rising Sun Ave. They fled in a vehicle that was last seen in the area of 7th Street and Lehigh Avenue.

Later that day, three black juvenile males approached a boy walking home from school on the 2000 block of W. Cheltenham Ave. One hit the boy in the head with a hammer.

At 7:45 that night, six black males began running toward a male near the intersection of Krewstown and Surrey roads. They punched and kicked him and stole his shoes.

Anyone with information on any of these incidents is asked to contact the Northeast Detective Division at 215-686-3153 or dial 911.
