Holme Circle honors 8th district cop

The Holme Circle Civic Association last week honored 8th Police District Officer Cinnamon Hill for arresting Elias Diaz, the alleged Pennypack Park slasher who was shortly thereafter charged with killing a woman in Fairmount Park in 2003.

Hill described Diaz, who was arrested in December, as “a monster.”

The civic association presented Hill with a plaque while state Rep. Ed Neilson gave her a certificate.

Chris Hanejko, community relations officer in the 8th district, praised the veteran Hill.

“She can defuse any situation,” he said.

Hanejko mentioned a steering wheel lock giveaway taking place at the 7th district, 1701 Bowler St., on Feb. 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The giveaway is open to owners of Hyundais and Kias. ••
