Nazareth Academy High School announced that Brigid Sullivan Kelley ’98 has been named coach of the soccer team. Kelley, who became athletic director last August, transitioned Nazareth into the Catholic League for the 2023-24 season. She replaces Dan Bradley, whom she also succeeded as athletic director.
Kelley was inducted into the Southeastern Pennsylvania Soccer Hall of Fame in 2017 as well as Nazareth’s Hall of Fame Class of 2020. While at Nazareth, she was a four-year starter on the soccer team, a four-year All-AACA selection and a co-captain as a senior, while playing on AACA champion teams as a junior and senior.
Kelley was also a member of the basketball and track teams and the National Honor Society. Her soccer career continued at Seton Hall University, where she was a four-year starter, co-captain for three years, named to the Big East Rookie Team, three-time Big East Player of the Week and Academic All-American. She graduated Summa Cum Laude. She was chosen for the Olympic Development Program in the Eastern PA Youth Soccer Association for six years. Kelley was an assistant coach at Seton Hall from 2002-07, an assistant at Chestnut Hill College from 2021-23 and a youth soccer coach for 13 years.
Kelley said, “I am excited to begin working with the Nazareth Academy soccer team. As a former player, Nazareth Academy soccer helped pave the way for a long future in the sport as a player and coach. It also gave me memories to last a lifetime. I want to be able to provide that experience for the players. I look forward to working with the returning players as well as the incoming freshmen to build a winning culture on and off the field. It will be an honor to lead this talented group of young women.” ••
