A 20-year-old man was shot to death on Thursday night in Lawncrest.
Police responded to the 5800 block of Rising Sun Ave. (at Rosalie Street) at 8:54 p.m. for a report of a person with a gun on the highway.
A male was located with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. Police transported the victim to Temple University Hospital, where he died at 9:12 p.m. He was identified as Kristopher Dowling from the 4800 block of N. 15th St.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was walking west on the 500 block of Rosalie St. when a white Durango was traveling south on Rising Sun Avenue, and there was an exchange of gunfire.
No weapon was recovered, and no arrest was made. The motive is unknown. The investigation is ongoing with homicide detectives. ••
