The Block Gives Back on Friday held a gala at Philadelphia Ballroom.

The evening featured dinner, awards, raffles, a 50-50, a DJ and photo booth.

The Tacony-based Block Gives Back is active year round. Its events include free meals for the community, including at Thanksgiving; backpack giveaways to students; street and park cleanups; giveaways of winter necessities; candy giveaways at Halloween; and a Peace & Play Day. ••
