Nazareth senior honored

Nazareth Academy senior Bridget Olsen was honored at the recent Upper Holmesburg Civic Association meeting.

Olsen earned a full, four-year scholarship to Holy Family. She will study nursing. She was chosen based on academics and community involvement. The scholarship is part of a community benefits agreement among the Upper Holmesburg Civic Association, Holy Family and NewCourtland, for redevelopment of the former Liddonfield Homes housing project.

Olsen was joined at the meeting by her parents and sister; East Torresdale Civic Association president Joe Carson, state Rep. Pat Gallagher; Blue, the Holy Family tiger mascot; Stan Cywinski, president of the Upper Holmesburg Civic Association; City Councilman Mike Driscoll; and state Sen. Jimmy Dillon. ••
