• Local residents were among some 465 graduates who earned master’s and doctoral degrees at the University of Scranton commencement ceremony at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza, Wilkes-Barre. Local graduates are Lavanya Roy (Master of Health Administration), Jessica K. Hackney (Master of Science degree in occupational therapy) and Rincy Jacob (Master of Accountancy degree in forensic accounting).
• The following students graduated from Cedar Crest College: Danielle Finocchiaro (Nursing), Trinity Hartley (Business Administration) and Corinne Mundy (Exercise Science).
• Matias Myers was named to the dean’s list at Cedarville University (Ohio) for spring 2024. The recognition requires the student to obtain a 3.50 GPA or higher for the semester and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours.
• Sabrina Overton, a student at Trine University (Indiana), was named to the president’s list for the spring 2024 semester. Overton is majoring in General Studies. To earn president’s list honors, Trine students must complete a minimum of 12 hours and have a grade point average of 3.750-4.000.
• Assumption University (Massachusetts) announced that Noelia Genao, Class of 2024, has been named to the university’s dean’s list for the spring 2024 semester. Students named to the dean’s list must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester to be included on the list.
• More than 140 undergraduate students, including Psychology major Makayla Egolf, presented their research at Hofstra’s annual Undergraduate Research Day.
• Shuyi Zhao graduated from Trine University (Indiana) with a degree in Master of Science in Business Analytics.
• Alexandria Williams was one of more than 400 undergraduate and graduate students who graduated from Lebanon Valley College. Williams received a master of music education.
• Ibijoke Adegboyega received a master’s in Nursing from Wilkes University.
• Bria Hiebert-Crape graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a Master of Science in Statistics. ••
