Hundreds of motorcyclists ride to benefit FOP Survivors Fund

The Rev. Jim MacNew, FOP chaplain, blesses the riders with holy water.

The 17th annual Philadelphia Fallen Heroes Memorial Motorcycle Ride kicked off on Sunday from Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5 headquarters.

The Bullets Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club led the fundraiser to benefit the FOP’s Survivors Fund, which provides financial assistance and support to Philadelphia police officers and their families who have been injured or killed in the line of duty.

“We never forget our fallen comrades or their families,” said Lodge 5 President Roosevelt Poplar. “The FOP Survivors Fund was established to honor the sacrifice of each fallen officer, but also acknowledge the sacrifice made by each surviving family.”

Several hundred riders participated.

The Bullets Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club and other riders received a police escort to their final destination to Keenan’s in North Wildwood. ••
