Local student attends journalism conference

Cayden Stewart, a Bustleton resident and student at Holy Ghost Preparatory School, represented Philadelphia as a National Youth Correspondent to the 2024 Washington Journalism and Media Conference, July 7-12 at George Mason University.

Stewart, whose dad Bob is Chief Deputy Register of Wills, joined a select group of students from all over the country for an intensive study of journalism and media. Stewart was chosen based on academic accomplishments and a demonstrated interest and excellence in journalism and media studies. Stewart achieved a 4.25 GPA and leads his school’s broadcasting department, regularly serving as the play-by-play announcer on Holy Ghost Prep’s YouTube Livestream for home sports games. He is also the official voice of the Philadelphia Box Lacrosse Association.
