• Widener University announced its dean’s list for spring 2024. To make the list, a student must have a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the semester.

Local members of the dean’s list are Riya Abraham, Brandon Bissey, Maggie Rose Boyes, Maura Carberry, Madison Carsley, Bria Corley, Sean Curran, Daniel Dailey, Caden Dietz, Munah Doe, Megan Gribben, Stone Haworth, Quintin Hill, Jalyn Jaquez-Reyes, Alyssa Kolimaga, David Marcellino, Dariel Mejia, Jessica Mereshensky, Morgan Micciche, Melina Morrow, Joseph Nescio, Ogechukwu Ossai, Emily Pitcherello, Lurianny Polanco, Ethan Pomales, Madison Scarinci, Emma Schultz, Anne-David Toussaint, Jeremiah Valcourt, Angeliese Wahl, Leo-Paul Wahl, Jenna Waldron, Andre Washington, Raven Williams, Zachary Zolna.

• The following local students have been named to the University of Delaware dean’s list for the spring 2024 semester: Felix Flis, Melanie Collier, Matthew Christian. To meet eligibility requirements for the list, a student must be enrolled full time and earn a GPA of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

• Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine held its 16th annual White Coat Ceremony for the Class of 2028. White Coat ceremonies are designed to initiate new medical students into the profession by taking an oath acknowledging their responsibilities as future physicians and their obligations to future patients. The high point of the ceremony is when the future doctors are cloaked with the white coat – the mantle of the medical profession. Local students receiving white coats were Adrian Alvarado and Chinelo Nnadozie.

Matias Myers earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Cedarville University (Ohio).

• Nearly 1,800 students received undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degrees from Pennsylvania Western University. The following local students earned degrees: Tony Cheung, who studied at the California campus, earned a Bachelor of Science in Digital Media Technology with a minor in Marketing; Sierra Everett, who studied at the California campus, earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice; Arianna Perry, who studied at the Clarion campus, earned an Associate of Art in Interdisciplinary Studies; Michael Lowe, who studied at the Global Online campus, earned a Superintendent Letter of Eligibility Post-Master’s Certification; and Tina Thompson, who studied at the Global Online campus, earned a Master of Science in Library Science.

• Kutztown University athletics recorded a department high as 133 student-athletes earned Division 2 Athletic Directors Association (D2 ADA) Academic Achievement Award status. For a student-athlete to qualify for the award, they must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, have completed a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college level work at a two-year and/or four-year institution and also been an active member of an intercollegiate team during the last academic year. Local Kutztown students on the list are Shannon Remolde, a guard on the basketball team and a St. Basil graduate, and Anastasia Fratanduono, a member of the track and field and cross country teams and an Archbishop Ryan graduate. ••
