Kamala “Bernie” Harris

Where do we start? VP Harris was endorsed (coronated) by President Biden and seemingly endorsed by Hollywood personalities and well-positioned Democrats. Where are the people who are supposed to vote for their nominee? Is this a democracy or kingdom? It is ironic that the Democrats are saying we have to save and protect our democracy, when they are not even letting the people vote for their nominee.

But back to our Bernie Sanders camouflaged as VP Harris. The Democrats are saying to look at the future, but we must look at the past. Meaning VP Harris’s past.

While she was VP, the energy producers of this country were restricted that we had to import more oil when we were energy independent four years ago. Also, especially for Pennsylvanians, she campaigned that she is in favor of banning fracking.

While in the Senate, Harris co-sponsored the Green New Deal that was introduced by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, better known as AOC, who wanted to transition the country to 100% clean energy within a decade.

VP Sanders (oops) Harris is in favor of Medicare for All and wants to abolish private health insurance industry completely.

VP Harris, let’s not forget that she was a defund-the-police proponent and was calling for the abolishment of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement). And didn’t VP Harris ask her followers to donate bail funds for the rioters who caused havoc in the cities during 2020.

Immigration: I can go on and on about her failure to take control of the southern border by President Biden. VP Harris, when she served as district attorney in San Francisco, her office championed sanctuary cities. Then DA Harris ran a program (Back on Track) that included illegal immigrants who were arrested for drug crimes to get a job and have their records expunged, all while avoiding deportation because of San Francisco’s sanctuary policies.  Like I said, I can go on and on.

VP Harris’s position on forgiving student debt is that she approved and is proud of the $146 billion she and President Biden transferred to us taxpayers.

Now will you see any of this in the media? Or does the media just want to ignore or, better yet, erase history.

A good state rep

I went into the office of state Rep. Ed Neilson to get help on a complicated problem. He has the best employees. They are always attentive and fix any problems I may have that I need solved. Before I mentioned my problem I told the employee that I would like to be able to tell the representative about his wonderful staff. I explained my situation and it turns out Rep. Neilson was in the office and had heard every word I said. He came out of his office to personally take care of my issue.

He knew I was a conservative Republican and he is a Democrat, but still he went to the phone and made a very time-consuming phone call and got every bit of information I needed. Talk about service. He did such a good deed and I was amazed.

Kudos to Rep. Neilson. Truly a kind and thoughtful man. Good job. He calmed me and got me the information I needed. Thank you, sir.

Tax and spend

Homeowners are being informed that our property taxes are going up again. This is just two years after a whopping 30% increase.

It is the height of arrogance to continually reach into the pockets of citizens who are struggling to deal with the brutal increase in food, utility and insurance costs.

We all know the home value increases reflected in this tax are due to a market bubble. When the bubble breaks, will the city rush to lower our taxes? Fat chance.

Mayor Parker has proposed a new city operating budget of $6.37 billion. (For comparison, the entire operating budget for the state of Delaware is $6.1 billion.)

The city’s budget was $5.2 billion in 2022. The city budget was $4.2 billion in 2017.

What has changed to cause the budget to go up nearly 50 percent since 2017? Are we getting 50% more services? Why has “efficiency” become a dirty word?

In fact, the city has long been short over 1,000 police officers and many other employees — salaries not paid. Where did all that budgeted money go? Is anyone ever held accountable?

Do yourself a favor. Cut out this letter and send it to the mayor or City Council. Just add: No more taxes.

We don’t need Dr. Trump

Hey James McCaffrey in Mayfair, continuing with your dentist analogy. I want a dentist who helps people and not just themselves. A dentist who doesn’t molest their patients in department store dressing rooms, a dentist who doesn’t steal your top-secret records, a dentist who lets women decide what treatments are right for them. A dentist who knows how to handle a medical crisis and doesn’t try to cure it with drinking bleach and shining a light down your throat. A dentist who doesn’t keep harping on the number of people in their waiting room and how they have more people in their waiting room than any other dentist in the world. A dentist who’s in favor of the Affordable Care Act so their patients can get health insurance. A dentist who wants their patients to have the right to form unions so they can afford to pay the bill. A dentist who doesn’t dictate what their patients are reading in the waiting room. A dentist who believes in OSHA and operates a safe office and the EPA so patients have safe drinking water. It would also be nice if while in their waiting room they weren’t selling a personal line of water, steaks, Bibles, degrees and sneakers to pay their lawyers for 34 felony convictions. Well, hopefully your MAGA dentist numbs you before shoving Trump down your throat. Calling Dr. Harris.
