• The Albright College Lions play NCAA Division III athletics teams in the Middle Atlantic Conference. Local athletes are Ja’Vaughn Bradford, a member of the football team who graduated from Philadelphia Academy Charter High School, played at George Washington and is majoring in Computer Science; Angelo Hernandez, a member of the football team who graduated from Abraham Lincoln and is majoring in Sport Management; and Dezire Robinson, a member of the women’s volleyball team who graduated from Robert Vaux and is studying Biology.
• Holy Cross welcomed 835 students in the class of 2028, including Alex Olivares.
• Wilkes University awarded more than 300 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees during its commencement ceremony on Sept. 8. The following local students earned their degrees: Sean McCurdy, Supply Chain Management; Yessenia Wilson, Nursing; and Walson Jean Baptiste, master’s in Nursing. ••
