State grant for Calvary A.A. upgrades

State Sen. Jimmy Dillon presented a $75,000 Department of Community and Economic Development check to Calvary Athletic Association, 4330 Deerpath Lane.

Dillon presented the check on Homecoming at halftime of the sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade CYO football game between Calvary A.A. and St. Genevieve. The lawmaker told the crowd he’s an Our Lady of Calvary graduate who played on the Calvary A.A. fields and playground.

In addition to football games, Homecoming featured face painting, raffle baskets, food and a baked goods table.

Meanwhile, Calvary A.A. will host Booze Bingo on Saturday, Nov. 2. Doors open at 7 p.m. Bingo begins at 8. The cost is $40, which includes eight games and light refreshments.
