Simon Gratz defeated Northeast 57-51 on Thursday, which extended their perfect season to 5-0.
The Bulldogs’ win was fueled by incredible performances from Rakim Johnson and Nasir Mackely.
Johnson led the team with 20 points, while Mackely added 14 and helped Simon Gratz secure their third consecutive road victory.
Northeast fought hard despite the loss streak, with strong efforts from senior leaders Bobby Perry and Jonathan Miller.
Perry had his best game of the season, hitting 10 of 15 shots for a team-high 23 points.
Miller also had a solid performance, scoring 19 points on 6-of-13 shooting while contributing six rebounds. And the 19 points marked a new career high for Miller.
The loss dropped Northeast’s record to 3-4 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
Simon Gratz’s victory came as a form of redemption after their 46-42 defeat to Northeast earlier this season.
Looking ahead, Northeast will travel to Conwell-Egan Catholic for a 7:00 p.m. matchup on Monday.
