The Conwell-Egan Catholic Eagles delivered an impressive performance on Tuesday, as they defeated the Northeast Vikings 78-55 in a non-conference basketball game.
With this victory, the Eagles remain undefeated at 4-0 this season.
Conwell-Egan’s offensive firepower was on full display as they pulled away in the second quarter, outscoring Northeast 25-9.
The Eagles maintained their lead throughout the game, finishing strong with a 22-point surge in the final quarter.
Jonathan Miller, who played a key role in the victory, was recognized as the Northeast Basketball Player of the Game after contributing 16 points and showcasing his shooting accuracy.
For the Vikings (4-5), their leading scorer was Tahir Williams, who put up 13 points.
Bobby Perry also contributed 12 points, which wasn’t enough to overcome the Eagles’ balanced attack.
Despite a late push in the third quarter, Northeast struggled to keep pace with Conwell-Egan’s offense, which shot an efficient 54% from the field.
Conwell-Egan Catholic will look to continue its undefeated run, while the Vikings aim to bounce back and find their rhythm as they head into their next Philadelphia Public—Liberty league game.
