Adare Pharma Solutions has now moved its global headquarters to Philadelphia, bringing exciting growth to the city and Pennsylvania.
With $2.9 million in state funding, the company completed a $16.8 million expansion project, including relocating from New Jersey and expanding two manufacturing and packaging facilities in Northeast Philadelphia.
The move will create 115 new jobs within three years and secure 200 existing jobs in Pennsylvania.
The state invested heavily in the life sciences industry, which contributes $62 billion to the U.S. economy and employs over 100,000 people in the state.
Adare’s expanded facilities include a 175,000-square-foot site at 7722 Dungan Road and a 128,000-square-foot site at 1100 Orthodox Street.
These locations now handle Adare’s manufacturing, packaging, and headquarters operations.
Governor Josh Shapiro, alongside local leaders, visited Adare’s facilities to celebrate the move and tour the expanded spaces.
Adare, which specializes in pharmaceutical services like oral dosage manufacturing, chose Philadelphia for its workforce, location, and supportive environment.
To support the move, Pennsylvania provided a comprehensive funding package.
It included a $2.4 million loan from the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority, a $460,000 Pennsylvania First grant, and $100,000 to train employees for their new roles.
The Governor’s Action Team coordinated the project to attract and retain businesses in Pennsylvania, a relocation that aligns with the state’s ten-year economic development plan launched in 2023.
The plan focuses on sectors such as life sciences and includes investments in workforce training and competitiveness.
The state’s bipartisan 2024-25 budget further supports these goals by allocating:
- $500 million for site development
- $20 million for small business support
- $15 million for tourism marketing
For Adare, the move to Philadelphia made perfect sense.
The city offers easy access to highly skilled workers, proximity to major markets, and support from the state government.
With its dynamic metropolitan setting and renowned universities, Philadelphia has become a natural home for the company’s headquarters and growing operations.
Additionally, the relocation strengthens Philadelphia’s position as a leader in life sciences.
While cities like Boston currently dominate the field, Pennsylvania is quickly closing the gap.
Through targeted investments and thoughtful strategies, the state is proving its ability to compete on a national level.
The arrival of companies like Adare is clear evidence of this progress.
