The deadline is Monday, May 5, to register to vote in the May 20 primary. Visit vote.phila.gov/register
The deadline is 5 p.m. on May 13 to apply for an application to vote by mail in the primary.
All registered Philadelphia voters are entitled to vote by mail in the primary. Completed mail-in votes are due by 8 p.m. on the night of the primary.
Applications can be found at vote.phila.gov/votebymail
You can also pick up an application from the County Board of Elections office in City Hall Room 142 during normal business hours.
Meanwhile, people can request a ballot and complete it during the same visit at satellite election offices.
“Every voter deserves equal access to the ballot, no matter their circumstance,” said Omar Sabir, chairman of the city election commission. “Our satellite election offices and mail ballot options are designed to ensure that democracy works for everyone.”
Local satellite election offices are at 6420 Frankford Ave. (215-MU6-7806) and 1619 Grant Ave. (215-MU6-8683).
“It’s important to make your voice heard in every election by casting your vote,” said election commissioner Seth Bluestein. “Our satellite election offices are available to make it more accessible for all Philadelphians, and we encourage everyone to take advantage of this resource.”
Hours at satellite election offices are weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“U.S. president not being on the ballot should not be an excuse to skip this election. There are offices, judges, DA, controller, on the ballot that will have as much or greater impact on you, your families and neighbors’ everyday life,” said commission vice chairwoman Lisa Deeley. “I encourage all citizens to vote, and vote in every office up and down the ballot.”
As for mail ballot drop-off locations, information is available at phila.gov/voting.
Polls will be open on May 20 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. ••
