In recognition of Earth Day, employees of AdvanSix Frankford, 2501 Margaret St., participated in an annual site perimeter cleanup organized by the company’s environmental leader, Adrienne Yeager. Staff worked in teams to tackle various areas around the plant’s footprint, including Bridge, Lefevre and Pearce streets, and other surrounding blocks and areas under I-95 that are prone to illegal dumping.
In just a couple of hours, the nearly 40-person group was able to fill two 20-yard Dumpsters — and worked with Philly 311 to clear large and hazardous items like mattresses, syringes and several pounds of rotten meat.
“The perimeter cleanup is something I look forward to each year and an important way for us to come together and reinforce our commitment to caring for our environment and our community,” Yeager said. “For us at AdvanSix, it all starts with our community. We strive to be good neighbors and partners in the communities in which we operate and that extends to our commitment to maintain safe, stable and sustainable operations and to say thank you and give back in many different ways.”Learn more about the AdvanSix Frankford plant, visit https://www.advansix.com/about/manufacturing-sites/frankford-pa/ ••
