A cleanup and party on Aldine Street

The Block Gives Back held a recent block cleaning and block party on the 4000 block of Aldine St.

Volunteers collected 27 bags of trash, weighing 429.5 pounds.

The group was joined by, among others, state Sen. Joe Picozzi; Northeast Together; Emancipet, a low-cost veterinary clinic; and the district attorney’s office.

The day included grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, pretzels, water ice, doughnuts, basketball and flag football. ••
