The 5 Points Night Market is returning to Burholme this summer, bringing food, music and community pride back to Rising Sun Avenue on Thursday, June 26, from 5-9 p.m.
Stretching from Cottman Avenue to St. Vincent Street, the evening will feature food trucks, local vendors, live performances, summer fun and activities for all ages. The event is part of the city’s Wawa Welcome America festival.
“I’m thrilled to report that Wawa Welcome America is once again making Philadelphia the place our nation turns to for Independence Day celebrations,” said Aizaz Gill, president of the Burholme Townwatch and Civic Association. “I had the opportunity to share what makes our corner of the city so special, and I’m proud that Burholme will once again be part of the action. We know what we have here. Now the rest of Philadelphia gets to see it, too.”
Gill added, “The Night Market is back because Burholme knows how to show up and show off and on June 26, everyone’s invited to see why.”
Street closures in the area will be in effect from noon to 10 p.m. on June 26. Residents and businesses are encouraged to attend and participate.
For more information, visit the civic association meeting on Thursday, May 8, at 7 p.m. at United Methodist Church of the Redeemer (1128 Cottman Ave.). Representatives from Wawa Welcome America will talk about what’s planned and how you can get involved.
