Keith Mitchell continues to lead the Truist Championship at the Philadelphia Cricket Club.
Mitchell carded a 3-under 67 on Friday to finish the day with a one-stroke lead. He shot a career-low 61 on Thursday and will enter Saturday’s third round 12-under.
Mitchell will seek to become the third player this season to hold the 18- and 36-hole lead and go on to win (Justin Thomas/RBC Heritage, Scottie Scheffler/THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson).
Mitchell entered the tournament with top-20 finishes in his last four starts.
His lone PGA Tour title came at the 2019 Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches.
Right behind Mitchell is three-time Tour winner Shane Lowry at 11-under. He has just one bogey through 36 holes.
Austria’s Sepp Straka is third at 10-under.
This year’s RBC Heritage champion, Justin Thomas, is tied for fourth at 7-under.
Among those joining him at 7-under is FedExCup leader and defending champion Rory McIlroy, who is in search of his fifth career tournament title at the Truist Championship (2010, 2015, 2021, 2024).
Others at 7-under are Collin Morikawa, Si Woo Kim, Akshay Bhatia and Patrick Cantlay.
The third round begins Saturday at 8:10 a.m.
The Golf Channel will show the tournament from 1-3 p.m., with CBS beginning coverage at 3. ••
