Memorial service May 17 for Pete Specos

A memorial service for Frankford community activist Pete Specos will take place on Saturday, May 17, at 11 a.m. at St. Mark’s Church. 4442 Frankford Ave. (near Griscom Street).

Following the service, there will be a pot luck luncheon in the church Hall.

Specos, who died on April 16, was active in many ways over the years, including as president of the Frankford Civic Association.

He was on the board of the New Frankford Community Y and a member of the 15th Police District Advisory Council and Keep the Faith in Frankford.

He assisted with Dining with Dignity, the St. Mark’s meal program, and prepared turkey meals for the needy at Thanksgiving.

He enjoyed designing a Christmas light show at his house, and was a Democratic committeeman.
