A waste of money
The city wellness court is more money for a program that was doomed from the get-go. Arresting a druggie in the morning and taking them to court in the afternoon is such a worthless concept. The only thing the druggie wants by the afternoon is to get high. They will lie, cheat and steal to get to that end. They will even tell you they will get straight or show up for their next court appearance. Haven’t the idiots in City Hall figured that out yet. Fining these people only puts them into a bigger hole to dig out of. Forcing rehab never works and all the experts will tell you that. As you can see, the program was born to fail. It’s like owning a boat. It’s a big hole in the sea that you keep throwing money into. I’m tired of the mayor and City Council wasting my money on frivolous programs.

Democracy vs. Dictatorship
The following is a story, I once heard, that perfectly illustrates the difference between a dictatorship and a democracy. Admittedly it is an exaggeration but does make its point. Decide if this sounds familiar in today’s current events.
A dictatorship – A heinous crime has been committed. The law has gathered 100 suspects and is sure one is the perpetrator. Yet they can’t identify that one guilty person. Solution: Kill all 100 to ensure that one does not get away. A democracy – The law has gathered from a gang-related crime 100 suspects. They know that 99 are guilty but can’t ascertain the one who is innocent.
Solution: Release all 100. Heaven forbid they should punish one innocent civilian. In a dictatorship, you risk your life having the audacity to criticize any ruling. In a democracy you are guaranteed freedom of speech as long as you do not make any threats or advocate violence. If you hear or see an injustice, make yourself heard, take a stand. Silence equals acceptance and even complicity. I, personally, am so weary of hearing these “sunshine patriots” through their mob mentality advocating and instigating actions that they know are wrong. If you are sure of yourself and want to ensure that justice is well served, as Shakespeare wrote, “This above all, to thine own self be true.”
