The nonprofit Riverfront North Partnership recently celebrated its annual Spring Fling at Glen Foerd, with proceeds going to parks and trails on the Delaware River.
Riverfront North presented the Robert A. Borski Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award to Kathryn Ott Lovell, president and CEO of the Philadelphia Visitor Center.
“Kathryn is an exemplary public servant from Northeast Philadelphia,” said Stephanie Phillips, Riverfront North executive director. “She grew up in Mayfair, still has family in Mayfair and is committed to making great experiences in parks and public spaces for all Philadelphians.”
Lovell served as commissioner of the city Department of Parks and Recreation from 2016-2023. Prior to joining Parks and Recreation, Lovell served as executive director of the Fairmount Park Conservancy and as chief advancement officer for Mural Arts Philadelphia for six years.
A St. Hubert graduate, she once worked for her alma mater as director of institutional advancement and was one of the key players who saved the school when the Archdiocese of Philadelphia threatened to close it in 2012.
Borski, a former congressman and board chairman for Riverfront North, was in attendance. Among others on hand were state Rep. Pat Gallagher and City Councilman Mike Driscoll.
The evening also included drinks and live music by Noggin Hill. ••
