The Tacony Community Development Corporation brought together neighbors, organizations, partners and sponsors at various events this spring: April First Friday Community Art Show at the Mural Arts Tacony LAB Community Arts Center; Neighborhood Clean Up as part of Philly’s Spring Cleaning; Palm Week Celebration and Good Friday Street Procession at Our Lady of Consolation Church; EID Mubarak Party and Reptiles Rock at the Tacony Library; Storytime and Movie with Charlie the Bunny at Holy Innocents St. Paul’s Episcopal Church; Floral Bouquet Making at the Tacony Mayfair Sons of Italy Club; and Clean Up and Yoga in the Park with Just Breathe LLC.
The Tacony LAB Community Art Center, Tacony Library, Tacony Civic Association and the Tacony Mayfair Sons of Italy Lodge worked together on the activities.
Politicians who supported events through their sponsorships include Councilman Mike Driscoll, Reps. Pat Gallagher and Joe Hohenstein and Sen. Joe Picozzi. Through their donations, the Tacony CDC was able to provide free refreshments for community members who came out to the events.
Our Lady of Consolation Church and Holy Innocents St. Paul’s Episcopal Church volunteered their spaces to host and invite community members to take part in spring events. ••
