• Madison Fischer was honored for academic excellence by being inducted into the Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society at Delaware Valley University for the 2024-25 academic year.
• Local residents were among the more than 725 graduates who took part in the University of Scranton’s undergraduate commencement ceremony held at Mohegan Arena in Wilkes-Barre. Local graduates were John A. McMonagle (degree in cybercrime and homeland security and philosophy), Carson L. Salvatore (chemistry), Teresa R. Fernandes (communication sciences and disorders), Danielle L. McFadden (health administration) and Arianna L. Taylor (business administration).
• Alvernia University Class of 2025 graduate Rawan Qays earned the Excellence in Healthcare Administration at the 2024 Honors Convocation Award Ceremony. Qays was one of more than 70 Alvernia students who received academic, service and experiential learning excellence awards at the ceremony.
• Muhlenberg’s Class of 2025 includes local graduates Amelia Brooke Corda, a graduate of Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush who earned a degree in Theatre, and Ryan P. Wreath, a graduate of Penn Charter who earned a degree in Finance.
• Meghan Cain received a Master of Arts in Teaching with an initial certification in Mathematics from Wilkes University, which awarded more than 700 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees at its 78th spring commencement ceremonies. The degrees conferred were 279 bachelor’s, 341 master’s and 86 doctoral degrees.
• La Salle University’s School of Nursing and Health Sciences celebrated a tradition for graduating nursing students with a pinning ceremony, which marks a milestone for students completing their Bachelor of Science in nursing degrees. About 60% of this year’s graduates come from La Salle’s traditional day program, while the remaining 40% have completed the evening/weekend program. Local students recognized were Lauren Gerstle, Angeline Campbell, Shamire Baccas, Sachira Gomez Erazo and Christiana Sogbesan.
• Cedar Crest College’s Class of 2025 included Juliana Delgado (degrees in Forensic Science and Chemistry), Emily Schwartz (Early Childhood Education) and Kawtar Latrech (Occupational Therapy).
• Beth Wise earned a Master of Science degree in human resources management and Caitlin Hirowski earned a Master of Business Administration degree in healthcare management and accounting from the University of Scranton. The ceremony took place at Mohegan Arena in Wilkes-Barre. ••
