The Philadelphia Protestant Home hosted a Juneteenth Festival on Thursday in its community room and activities room.
Musician Robert Kenyatta, whose long career has included playing with Wilson Pickett, entertained residents during an interactive presentation that included bells, drums, a tambourine and a shaker.
Residents watched a video on Opel Lee, known as the “Grandmother of Juneteenth.”
The festival also featured cornhole, Connect Four, trivia and food. ••
