The Lawncrest Community Association on Saturday presented the neighborhood’s annual Independence Day celebration.
The event was in partnership with City Councilman Anthony Phillips, state Rep. Anthony Bellmon and the 35th Ward Democratic Committee.
Daytime activities included a DJ, information and resource tables, bounce houses, face painting, balloon art and food by the Lawncrest Lions.
A 30-minute fireworks spectacular began at dusk at the Lawncrest Recreation Center field.
The 2026 celebration will also be on July 5, which will be a Sunday. ••
