The Millbrook Civic Association last week approved a bid by Archbishop Ryan to erect a free-standing, double-sided, digital sign.
Attorney Leonard Altieri, of Klehr Harrison, represented Ryan.
Among those in attendance were Ryan president Joe Sanginiti, principal Joe McFadden and Ed Hughes, of the school development office.
Ryan, at 11201 Academy Road, needs a variance to have a digital sign and because the proposed height (15 feet) and square footage far exceed what is allowed.
The sign will show announcements and information, rotating every 15 seconds. It will stand on the lawn facing Academy Road, on the northern part of the campus, and will be turned off from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Millbrook Civic voted 9-0 in favor of the variance.
Ryan will have a Zoning Board of Adjustment hearing on Aug. 6.
Millbrook Civic Association will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 7 p.m. at Jimmy O’Connor Memorial Playground, 4330-40 Deerpath Lane. ••
