The Delaware Valley Veterans Home, 2701 Southampton Road, last week celebrated the 101st birthday of resident June Kerrigan.
Kerrigan is a U.S. Navy veteran who was in the original WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service), which was the women’s branch of the United States Naval Reserve during World War II.
The former June Marie Miskovish still has a letter from President Harry Truman thanking her for her service. ••
