Never mistake dissent for disloyalty

I must respond to Saul Broudy’s letter to the editor from July 2, stating Loyalty to country, not government. This was “spot on.” I could not agree more. Never confuse criticism with disrespect or dissent with disloyalty. Every American, regardless of their religion, should understand this concept. Netanyahu and the Settlers are leading Israel to become the pariah country of the United Nations. In my opinion, when another group of civilians are killed, their official response is “it is under investigation.” This appears to be their “MO” (modus operandi). May I add that it appears and I believe the IDF actions are an example of, we are only following orders. Now, where have I heard that before? If you forget or disregard the past, you are condemned to repeat actions, good or bad, over and over.

Social disease

Hardly a day goes by without someone being shot and killed or kids having access to guns. More recently, a kid shot another kid in the foot in North Philly. Shootings have become a social disease in which there is no cure. The question is why?
