Walmart hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to highlight the grand reopening of the store at 4600 Roosevelt Blvd. The store, which opened in 2003, underwent a series of upgrades. A number of employees were honored for their service, and the store offered slices of cake to commemorate the occasion.

During the Aug. 8 event, Walmart store manager Dwayne Hamilton presented grants to Universal Creighton Charter School, Northeast Frankford Boys & Girls Club and Gen. Philip Kearny Elementary School.
