• Kutztown University welcomes the newest members of the Golden Bear family, including both new incoming freshmen and transfer students, for the fall semester. Local students are Jae Allen, Khrystyna Berenda, Kylie Burke, Adriana Ciaverelli, Sydney Gallagher, Michael Gambone, Sarah Hoger, Daniel Johnson, Jahnee Lane, Emily McCrane, Matthew McFadyen, Isabella Mclaughlin, Dan McLaverty, Nicolette Shupe and Evangelene Stanley.
• For the second year in a row, Kutztown University athletics set a department record with 157 student-athletes receiving Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement award status. For a student-athlete to qualify for the award, they must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, have completed a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college-level work and been an active member of an intercollegiate team during the last academic year. Local students earning the award were Matthew Weinberg, an Archbishop Ryan graduate on the wrestling team; Shannon Remolde, a St. Basil graduate on the basketball team; and Carly Walsh, a Ryan graduate on the soccer team. ••
