Mark Mroz, community relations officer in the 2nd Police District, on Monday night provided an update on crime at the Take Back Your Neighborhood meeting.
Mroz was joined by Lt. Ryan Laskowski.
Mroz spoke of two shootings on Sept. 13.
At about 7:05 p.m., a shooting occurred near the 800 block of Brill St. in Summerdale. A 15-year-old male was chased and sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported by police to Einstein Hospital for treatment. Mroz said the victim is not being cooperative.
At about 8:25 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting at Fox Chase Recreation Center, 7901 Ridgeway St., where teenagers were drinking and a fight was scheduled to take place. A juvenile female who attends Archbishop Ryan was struck in the left calf and transported by medics to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where she was placed in stable condition. The suspect, known as “Jack,” was wearing a mask and fled into the woods and north on Pine Road. Police are reviewing surveillance video.
