Nov. 4 ballot set

The ballot has been finalized for the Nov. 4 election.

Statewide, voters will elect a Superior Court judge. The candidates are Democrat Brandon Neuman, Republican Maria Battista and Daniel Wassmer, of the Liberal Party.

In the race for a seat on Commonwealth Court, the candidates are Democrat Stella Tsai and Republican Matt Wolford.

Citywide, voters will elect 11 judges to Common Pleas Court and four judges to Municipal Court. All candidates are Democrats.

In the race for district attorney, incumbent Democrat Larry Krasner will face former Municipal Court President Judge Pat Dugan in a rematch of their primary race. No Republican filed to run, and Dugan, of the Far Northeast, received enough write-in votes in the GOP primary to earn a spot on the general election ballot.

City Controller Christy Brady, a Democrat from Fox Chase, is being challenged by Republican Ari Patrinos in a very low-profile race.

Voters will also decide whether to retain judges on the Supreme Court, Superior Court, Commonwealth Court, Common Pleas Court and Municipal Court.

Left-wing groups such as the ACLU, Pennsylvania State Education Association, Planned Parenthood Pennsylvania Advocates and Pennsylvanians for Judicial Fairness are urging voters to retain Democratic Supreme Court Justices Christine Donohue, Kevin Dougherty (who lives in Pine Valley) and David Wecht.

The Republican State Legislative Committee has spent a relatively small amount of money urging voters to oppose the retention of the three justices.

The deadline is Oct. 20 to register to vote.

The deadline is 5 p.m. on Oct. 28 to request a mail-in ballot.
