The Mayfair Business Improvement District will sponsor a Christmas village and tree lighting on Thursday, Nov. 13, from 6-9 p.m., at Frankford and Cottman avenues.

There will be free pictures with Santa Claus, holiday shopping with local vendors and small businesses, Christmas drinks, seasonal treats, holiday performances, including by the St. Matthew choir, and the tree lighting at about 7 p.m.
The tree will be lit by the owners of Giggles Gifts, who will be the grand marshals of the Mayfair-Holmesburg Thanksgiving Parade, which will take place on Sunday, Nov. 23, starting at noon at Frankford Avenue and Rhawn Street.
The parade route travels south to Knorr Street. ••
