Mural Arts Philadelphia’s Tacony LAB Community Art Center, 6918 Torresdale Ave., recently hosted its second annual Knitathon. The Tacony Community Development Corporation provided refreshments.
The 24-hour fiber fest went from noon on Saturday, Nov. 15, to noon the next day.
The event was for knitters and crocheters of all levels, ages 13 and older, and included a raffle, with proceeds going to Therapeutic Craft Care, a nonprofit organization in Jenkintown dedicated to harnessing the power of creativity to improve the well-being of individuals.
There were contests for blindfolded knit and crochet, untangling yarn and working the most rows in one minute, along with best crochet and best knit object competitions. ••
