Fox Chase Farm and state Rep. Sean Dougherty are conducting a food drive in support of the Northeast Community Fridge, a walk-up pantry at 7902 Oxford Ave.
Suggested items are canned goods and other pantry staples, toiletries, household essentials, pet food and baby products. Items collected will be donated to and distributed by the Northeast Community Fridge.
Dougherty, Fox Chase Farm administrator Mandy Manna and Northeast Community Fridge organizing volunteer Liz Aubry met recently at the farm to promote the drive, which continues through Dec. 31.
Donations can be taken to Fox Chase Farm, which is operated by the School District of Philadelphia, 8500 Pine Road, weekdays from 1-3 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Dougherty’s office, at 7801-A Hasbrook Ave., is accepting donations weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dougherty serves on the House Agriculture Committee. ••
