The East Torresdale Civic Association on Monday night elected its leadership for 2026.
The officers will be president Joe Carson, first vice president Dan Coonan, second vice president Joe Apice, secretary Linda Hogan, treasurer Mark Morrison and sergeant at arms Hugh Davis. There were no candidates for legislative representative.
The executive board will consist of Ed Rice (bylaws), Adge Martin (education, health and welfare), Bridget Olsen (fundraising), Nicole Charlton (membership, publicity and social media), Allan Babnew (parks and recreation) and Mark Morrison (streets and traffic). There was no zoning candidate.
In other news from the Dec. 8 meeting:
• St. Katherine of Siena Parish, 9738 Frankford Ave., will hold a stewardship fair on Sunday, Jan. 25, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Visitors will learn about parish organizations and ministries. There will be refreshments, contests, balloon sculpting, face painting and entertainment by the Cub Choir and drama club.
• The Riverview Wellness Village, a recovery housing program for substance abusers at 7801 State Road, has 206 residents, an 88 percent capacity.
• Glen Foerd will have a new caterer, Cescaphe, for weddings and other events following renovations to the mansion and grounds.
• Basil Lester, manager of the 6th Councilmanic District Neighborhood Community Action Center, brought recycling buckets for members.
• East Torresdale Civic Association will meet on Monday, Jan. 12, at 7 p.m. at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 9601 Frankford Ave. ••
