NESTco’s Winter Faire and Holiday Shoppe took place on Dec. 13 at Hope Hall in Tacony. More than 75 families, both from NESTco agencies and the Northeast Philadelphia Chinese Association, attended two sessions of music, food, crafts, face painting, Santa and Mrs. Claus, free books, shopping with NESTco bucks for their families and a free ham and turkey giveaway courtesy of It Takes A Village to Feed One Child. Families came from many agencies, including SPIN, CUA 3 (El Concilio), Catholic Charities of Philadelphia (formerly Catholic Social Services), NEPCA, Mighty Writers and the Free Library. Pizzas were donated by the Upper Holmesburg Civic Association, coordinated by president Stan Cywinski, who is also an aide to Councilman Mike Driscoll. Amber Allen and the CUA 3 Team (El Concilio) donated soft pretzels. Volunteers included those from NEPCA and Mercy Vocational High School. ••
