America250PA recently brought its Keystone Classroom Initiative to William H. Loesche Elementary School as part of its ongoing effort to engage young learners across the state. The storytelling and outreach program introduces pre-K through fourth-grade students to their shared Pennsylvania story with the help of age-appropriate historical reenactors, storytellers, local figures and mascots. Students also receive a custom-designed America250PA coloring book and other Pennsylvania-themed treats in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026. Overall, the program will reach more than 50,000 Pennsylvania students by July 4, 2026.
Among those appearing at Loesche, 595 Tomlinson Road, were Al Schmidt, Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; state Reps. Martina White and Sean Dougherty; City Commissioner Lisa Deeley; Lynzi Allen, Miss Pennsylvania’s Teen; Laura Ellis, of America250PA; Carol Spacht, as Betsy Ross; The Keystone Kid, mascot of America250PA; and the Loesche Lion.
Betsy Ross led a fun, interactive program in the auditorium, while the other visitors read K is for Keystone in classrooms. ••
