Philadelphia 76ers Sign MarJon Beauchamp to Two-Way Contract, Waive Hunter Sallis

Following the 76ers’ 114–106 loss to the Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia signed MarJon Beauchamp to a two-way contract and waived rookie guard Hunter Sallis, according to a report from Tony Jones of The Athletic.

At the time of the move, the 76ers were carrying 14 standard NBA contracts and had already used 58 of their allotted two-way active games. Beauchamp becomes the team’s third two-way player alongside Dominick Barlow and Jabari Walker, both of whom have seen rotation minutes this season. Based on the timing of the signing, Beauchamp is expected to be eligible to dress for approximately 30 to 32 games.

The move required Philadelphia to open a roster spot, leading to Sallis being waived. Sallis, 22, appeared in seven games for Philadelphia after signing as an undrafted free agent shortly after the conclusion of the 2025 NBA Draft. He played the final 36.4 seconds of the loss to Brooklyn. During his time in the G League, he averaged 12.2 points per game, shooting 38.5 percent from the field and 18.8 percent from three-point range.

Beauchamp, now 25, entered the league as the 24th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft after being selected by the Milwaukee Bucks. Over his NBA career, which includes time with Milwaukee, the Los Angeles Clippers, and the New York Knicks, he has appeared in 135 regular-season games. Over that span, he has averaged 4.1 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 0.6 assists per game while logging roughly 11 minutes per contest.

His 2024–25 season was split across those same three teams, where he appeared in a total of 35 games. After spending his first two seasons with the Bucks, Beauchamp was traded in February 2025 in the deal that sent Kevin Porter Jr. to Milwaukee. His stint with the Clippers included three appearances before he was waived in March, after which he later signed a two-way contract with New York.

Philadelphia initially brought Beauchamp into the organization during the 2025 preseason on an Exhibit 10 contract. After waiving him, the team retained his G League rights and assigned him to the Delaware Blue Coats. During the G League Tip-Off Tournament and Winter Showcase with Delaware, Beauchamp averaged 20.7 points per game, along with 4.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists, and did so with efficient shooting across the floor.

He shot 50 percent from the field during that stretch, made just over 45 percent of his attempts from three-point range, and converted better than 93 percent of his free throws. In certain stretches with Delaware, his scoring even increased to 26.5 points per game, with his rebounding climbing to 7.0 per game and his assist numbers holding at 3.0, while again shooting 50 percent from three-point range.

On December 24, 2025, NBA analyst Keith Smith posted on social media that the 76ers “have nailed two-way signings this year.”

Beauchamp also appeared internationally during 2027 FIBA World Cup qualifying. Across two games against Nicaragua, he totaled 50 points on 18-of-26 shooting, including nine made three-pointers on 14 attempts. Over 50 total minutes, he added six assists, five rebounds, two blocks, and one steal, a performance that set a Team USA record for points scored across a two-game qualifying window.

The roster move occurred as betting lines shifted ahead of Philadelphia’s December 26 matchup against the Chicago Bulls at the United Center. The 76ers initially opened as 2.5-point favorites before the line moved to the Bulls minus 1.5. The total was listed at 239.5, and Chicago was listed as the favorite on the moneyline.

The odds were released alongside an injury report that listed Kelly Oubre Jr. as out with a knee injury and Joel Embiid as doubtful due to illness. Paul George was listed as probable, whereas Quentin Grimes, Dominick Barlow, and VJ Edgecombe were all ruled out with illness.
