The 15th Police District Advisory Council last week recognized Officers of the Month for November and December.
The honorees were Officers Miyinda Hopewell, Kanaan Simpson, Angel Lopez, Shivam Sharma and Raihan Mahmud.
During a meeting at the Mayfair Community Center, the officers received citations from the PDAC and the offices of state Sen. Tina Tartaglione, state Reps. Pat Gallagher, Joe Hohenstein, Jason Dawkins and Jared Solomon, City Councilman Mike Driscoll and Councilwoman Quetcy Lozada.
Among those in attendance at the Dec. 29 meeting were Hohenstein; Inspector Robert Heinzeroth, the newly appointed commander of the Northeast Police Division; Capt. Marques Newsome, commander of the 15th district; and aides to Tartaglione, Hohenstein, Driscoll and City Controller Christy Brady. ••
