Proposed housing at Algon and Rhawn

A preliminary proposal was discussed at the recent Rhawnhurst Civic Association meeting that would bring housing to 1539 Rhawn St. (at Algon Avenue).

The site is home to a large house and two empty lots.

A developer wants to demolish the existing house and build eight to 10 single-family homes, which would be in two rows of four or five each, with the homes in each row attached.

Some residents were concerned about more traffic coming to the already-busy intersection of Algon and Rhawn.

In other zoning news, Barbera Autoland will need a variance to continue to have a car sitting on its roof.
