Bob Kent, legislative affairs manager at SEPTA, discussed the transit agency’s use of buses to replace mid-day trains from the Fox Chase to Wayne Junction stations at the recent Lawncrest Community Association meeting.
Continuous welded rail work on the Fox Chase Line required the shuttle bus substitution beginning on Jan. 5 and continuing through April 3. The change is in effect weekdays from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Bus service is provided at the Fox Chase, Ryers, Cheltenham, Lawndale and Olney stations, with a train connection at Wayne Junction going to Center City.
SEPTA crews are performing installation and adjustment of new railway track to make rides smoother and more comfortable.
