The Delaire Landing Town Watch last week treated first responders to an appreciation lunch in the recreation center.

Capt. Nick DeBlasis, commander of the 8th Police District, was in attendance, along with some members of his team. Members of the Engine 46 firehouse were also on hand. Some retired police dispatchers were there, too.

City Councilman Mike Driscoll and elections commissioner Lisa Deeley stopped by.

The menu included sandwiches, cookies, snacks, doughnuts, Stock’s pound cake, soda, iced tea and water. The table covers were blue and red, with a black stripe in memory of those lost in the line of duty. ••
