St. Hubert inducts 6 Hall of Famers

St. Hubert High School recently inducted six graduates into its Hall of Fame at a dinner at Knowlton Mansion.

The honorees were:

• Colleen R. Ott ’96 – Art

• Bernadette Dickson Laukaitis ’96 – Athletics

• Kathleen Price Hertkorn ’88 – Business

• Rita Kelly Fitzgerald ’74 – Community Service

• Roseanne O’Hanlon Duzinski ’67 – Christus Vincit

• Patricia A. Peyton ’80 – Philanthropy & Volunteer

The emcee was Colleen Kean, the school’s Director of Institutional Advancement. The Rev. Brian Connolly, pastor at St. Dominic, offered a blessing before the meal.

Lizanne Pando, school president for the last 10 years, spoke about enrollment growth, in-house college classes, the new Susan Muller Anderson ‘68 Performing Arts Center and the Catholic League-champion soccer, bowling and cheerleading teams. She also thanked City Councilman Mike Driscoll and his chief of staff, Tom Forkin, for helping the school move closer to converting Russo Park into new fields. 

Ott is the founder and CEO of the Autistic Art Coalition of Philadelphia, launched in 2022 to elevate and advance acceptance among autistic and neurodivergent artists. Under her leadership, AACOP has held city-recognized exhibitions, built partnerships and secured formal recognition from public officials. Her professional journey includes photography, the arts, education, emergency medical services, caregiving and AmeriCorps service. She holds an associate degree in commercial photography from the Art Institute of Philadelphia and is a founding member of City Year Philadelphia.

Laukaitis played and captained field hockey, basketball and softball at St. Hubert, where she was Athlete of the Year as a senior. She also served on Student Council. She played basketball at Holy Family, describing herself in her Hall of Fame speech as a “little 5-foot-nothing girl from Northeast Philadelphia.” She was team captain and helped the Tigers win four conference titles. She has been head women’s basketball coach at Cabrini and Holy Family and an assistant at Penn. Holy Family has made the NCAA Division II tournament the last two seasons. She is also a member of the St. Matthew and Holy Family Halls of Fame.

Hertkorn, a graduate of Resurrection of Our Lord and La Salle University, is Chief Development Officer and Principal Gifts Officer for Abramson Cancer Center. She also chairs St. Hubert’s Development Committee and is a member of the Capital Campaign Cabinet and Board of Directors. She and her husband, Butch, had their wedding reception at Knowlton Mansion.

Fitzgerald grew up in St. Leo Parish. At St. Hubert, she was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Community Service Corps and the Orchestra, playing cello. She taught at Ascension of Our Lord and, with husband Rusty, raised six children in St. Dominic Parish. She has volunteered in numerous capacities at St. Dominic, St. Hubert and Father Judge. She is also a member of the Foundation for Catholic Education and St. Dominic Halls of Fame.

Duzinski attended All Saints. At St. Hubert, she was a soloist in school musicals and a member of the Glee Club and forensics program, winning the archdiocesan debate championship with partner Theresa Ryan. She gave the salutatory address for the class of ‘67. She is a graduate of Chestnut Hill College, and worked 33 years in the Philadelphia Prison System, eventually overseeing all private services for the system. She works part-time in the St. Hubert admissions office. She has been an active member of St. Katherine of Siena Parish, Torresdale Women’s Committee and the Glen Foerd board.

Peyton attended St. Matthew. At St. Hubert, she was a member of the National Honor Society and active in Calling Echo (the yearbook), the French Club and the World Affairs Council, participating in Model UN. She sang in the Glee Club and performed in musicals at St. Hubert and Father Judge. She also tutored pupils at St. Bernard. She graduated from Emerson College (Massachusetts) and has had a long career in organizational behavior. She chairs the St. Hubert board as one of many volunteer activities. She and her husband John live in Arizona.

To close the night, Duzinski and Peyton led fellow Bambies in singing the alma mater. ••
