Labello is a 1-year-old, 42-pound neutered male with a soft heart, wiggly body and a growing zest for life. This handsome young pup has come such a long way and is ready to find a forever home to call his own.
When Labello first arrived, he was shy and unsure of the world. With time and patience in foster care, he’s truly blossomed. He may still take a few minutes to warm up to men, but once he does, he’s incredibly affectionate and loves full-body pets and chest rubs. He’s very food motivated.
Labello is playful, active and full of joyful young-dog energy. He’s been loose, wiggly and social meeting other dogs, and enjoys playful interactions. He’s also been around a cat and showed appropriate appeasement behaviors — though he may chase if a cat runs, so a dog-savvy cat would be best.
This smart boy thrives with enrichment. Kongs, wobblers, puzzle toys, slow feeders — he loves working for his meals and happily eats from food-dispensing toys. Walks are a highlight of his day. He takes in the world with curiosity, happily watching people and other dogs pass by. Car rides can still make him anxious.
Like many young dogs, Labello can get a little mouthy when he’s extra excited during play, but he redirects well to toys. Because of this, he would do best in an adult-only home or with older, dog-savvy teens who understand puppy energy and can help reinforce good habits.
He’s making great progress with house training, has learned to signal at the door and settles nicely in his crate. After a day of activity and enrichment, he’s happy to curl up and recharge.
