I-95 Rollover Crash Near Fishtown Leaves All Occupants Uninjured

A rollover crash along Interstate 95 near Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood on Saturday night ended without any reported injuries, despite surveillance video capturing one person being ejected from the vehicle.

The incident between the Girard Avenue exit and the Interstate 676 interchange occurred just before 9:30 p.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police. The driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to flip over the median barrier.

Good Samaritans Rush to Help

Resident Zenia witnessed the incident and provided surveillance footage of the crash to local media. She described the immediate aftermath as “remarkable,” with her video showing the ejected passenger getting up and immediately rushing to help others still trapped in the overturned vehicle.

“That was amazing to me. Everyone got dragged out of the car. All the Samaritans dragged the three passengers and the driver out of the car,” Zenia told local news. “They refused medical assistance and the ambulance just drove off. They all got into the state police car.”

All Four Occupants Refuse Medical Treatment

The crash involved a total of four people – one driver and three passengers. Despite the violent nature of the rollover and the fact that one person was thrown from the vehicle, all occupants were able to walk away from the scene, with Pennsylvania State Police confirming that no injuries were reported from the incident.

Emergency medical services responded to the crash site, but their assistance was ultimately not needed, with all four individuals declining medical attention at the scene. The occupants were eventually transported from the scene in a state police vehicle.

Critical Highway Section Affected

The crash occurred on a busy stretch of I-95 that serves as a major north-south corridor through Philadelphia. The section between the Girard Avenue and I-676 exits carries heavy traffic volumes, particularly on weekend evenings.

The location near Fishtown places the incident close to one of Philadelphia’s rapidly developing neighborhoods, known for its mix of industrial heritage and modern residential growth. This area of I-95 frequently experiences traffic congestion due to its proximity to Center City and multiple highway interchanges.

Investigation Continues

While the immediate emergency response has concluded, Pennsylvania State Police are likely continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash. The surveillance video that captured the incident may provide crucial evidence for determining the factors that led to the driver losing control.

The dramatic footage shows the sequence of events that could have resulted in serious injuries or fatalities. The fact that all occupants survived without reported harm demonstrates both the unpredictable nature of vehicle crashes and the importance of immediate assistance from bystanders.

Traffic impacts from the incident were not immediately detailed in reports, though crashes involving vehicles crossing the median typically require significant emergency response and lane closures for investigation and cleanup.
